===Background=== |
Onyx Collective is a content brand owned and operated by Disney Entertainment, which primarily consists of projects from creators of colour and other underrepresented groups. The brand was first launched on May 17, 2021, with several projects under development for Hulu, Disney+, and Star+.
Logo: On a black background with a dim yellow light, some metallic orbs fly and form the letter "O" as the yellow becomes more brighter and shines through said letter. The rest of the letters of "NУX" (the letter "Y" made to look lowercase) follow suit. Underneath, "COLLECTIVE" in Franklin Gothic also flies as the light continues to shine.
Variant: On the trailer for Summer of Soul, the logo is cut to its final seconds.
Technique: CGI animation.
Music/Sounds: A warbling synth theme.
Availability: Current. First seen on the trailer on Summer of Soul and later debuted on the documentary itself. Also seen on Beba and Aftershock.
Logo: Almost exactly the same as the final product of the previous logo, except that the animation appears to be simplified. Like the previous logo, the light shines through the company name, except that it is slower. Some particles can be seen moving slowly to form the "ONУX" text.
Technique: CGI animation.
Music/Sounds: A single drumbeat is heard at the beginning of the logo, leading to a a 7-note horn theme. At the end, another drumbeat caps it off.
Music/Sounds Variants:
Availability: First seen on Reasonable Doubt and later seen at the end of Unprisoned, The Hair Tales, The 1619 Project and the film Bruiser.
