Background

The second incarnation of Viacom was established on December 31st, 2005 after the original reincarnation was split into two companies: one which retained the original Viacom name, and another one which was the original Viacom and was reincorporated into CBS Corporation, officially ceasing to exist. On December 4, 2019, Viacom and CBS remerged into ViacomCBS Inc.. On February 16, 2022, ViacomCBS was officially renamed to Paramount Global.

Viacom

(October 11-November 22, 2017)

Nickname: "ViacoMatrix"

Logo: Just the name "VIACOM" in the 2006 font appearing letter-by-letter as the letters rapidly change between various letters (like the Matrix, hence the name "ViacoMatrix") in a more normal-looking font.

FX/SFX: The letters changing to form the Viacom name.

Music/Sounds: The closing theme of the program or none.

Availability: Only seen on the second and final season of The Shannara Chronicles.

Editor's Note: It looks pretty cool for a modern-day simplistic logo. For a logo that looks simple (which happens to be somewhat of a trend in the latter-day New Tens), its designer must've put some thought into it for once.

ViacomCBS

1st Logo (December 4, 2019)

Nicknames: "The Chord", "Hazy ViacomCBS", "Boring ViacomCBS", "The Loud Chord"

Logo: On a hazy blue-gray background, we see the ViacomCBS logo (with a box of the same color around it) zoom out to fit with the background. We also see two lighter blue-gray triangles zooming out on each side of the screen.

FX/SFX: The logo zooming out slowly.

Music/Sounds: 2 drum hits and a loud chord (the end theme of the sizzle reel).

Availability: Only seen on a sizzle reel for said company.

Editors Note: This logo, much like several modern TV logos, looks rather bland and boring, especially compared to the previous logo. The chord can also be startling to some.

2nd Logo (April 29, 2020- )

Nickname: "The Slide"

Logo: On a blue background, two texts "VIACOMCBS" appear on the top and bottom of the screen, with each one forming about three duplicates that quickly disappear, and one on the middle of the screen. The text zooms in as three light blue, blue and white bars slide in from the left to reveal a white background, with the text being colored after the transition ("VIACOM" in Paramount+ blue and "CBS" in sky blue).

Variant: TBA.

FX/SFX: The logo shifting in, and the bars sliding.

Music/Sounds: The ending theme of the show.

Availability: Seen on #DanceTogether with D-Nice. It may appear on future shows from the company, although with the rebrand to Paramount Global, this logo's days might be numbered.

Editors Note: This logo is even better than the pre-merger one.

Paramount Global

(February 15, 2022)

Nicknames: "Mount Paramount", "The Mountain of Entertainment"

Logo: It's the same as the 2021 Paramount+ logo, except the end result has a darker blue background, and the "+" sign is removed.

FX/SFX: Same as the Paramount+ logo.

Music/Sounds: Same as the Paramount+ logo.

Availability: So far, it was only seen on the Paramount social media accounts.

Editor's Note: None.
