Background

This is the name that the channel currently known as La Une used between 1977 and 1997.

1st ID (December 12, 1977-1982)

Visuals: On a black background, a blue eye pupil zooms out. The outline of the eye is drawn in as the pupil keeps on moving back and then coming to a halt. Once the outline is drawn, it rotates and changes form into a tall shape, which is round on the left and mostly straight on the right. The pupil then fades to a white circle, and the background turns blue, as the circle changes its color to yellow. The screen then zooms on the circle as it changes its color one last time to red, as the logo from the time, consisting of the tall shape on the left, with a white circle, and the word "RTBF" and a giant white "1" below it, fades in.

Variant: There's a reverse animation version of the same ident for closedowns.

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: A slow, calming synth theme.

Availability: Was their first ident on the channel.

2nd ID (1982-1986)

Visuals: On a black background, three RTBF logos (colored magenta, yellow, and blue) slide. The logos slide again left and down. Three RTBF logos zoom in and then slide. The RTBF logos slide down and then the lines and the word "RTBF 1" slide in.

Variant: There is a closedown variant where the RTBF logos fly into place, after which the characters "RTBF 1" slide in below them, one by one. Then two lines fly in surrounding the letters. After that, the logos turn 90 degrees and the screen fades to blue. After a while, the channel name and the background both slide away.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A horn fanfare.
