Background

Rete A was a private national television station owned by Alberto Peruzzo's Gruppo Editoriale Peruzzo. Personalities such as Wanna Marchi, Maurizia Paradiso and Guido Angeli have been made known. In the eighties it broadcasted successful Hispanic-American telenovelas such as Los ricos también lloran. From the middle of the following decade it broadcasted the programs of MTV (previously rebroadcast in Italy on local TV) and VIVA, foreign music stations of international importance.

The brand ceased to exist in 2005 when it was replaced by All Music, and its frequencies were purchased by the Gruppo Editoriale L'Espresso, which used them to activate its own DVB-T multiplex, later managed by a company for the exclusive management of multipex, Persidera, born as a joint venture between Gruppo L'Espresso and Telecom Italy Media.
