Background

The Mimus Corporation was a production company by Danny Arnold that was founded in 1976, a part of Danny Arnold Productions. The company only made the 1977-78 Barney Miller spin-off series Fish.

Logo (February 5, 1977-June 8, 1978)

Visuals: Over a yellow background, a ellipse is seen in the center of the screen. A "T" appears on the left, followed by a "C" on the right, and then a larger "M" in the center, all in a serif font. The text "the MIMUS corporation" appears in the lower left corner at the same time as the "M", also in a serif font. Everything besides the background is colored red.

Technique: Cel animation.

Audio: An ascending, deep synth keyboard stinger likely composed by Jack Elliott and Allyn Ferguson, sounding reminiscent of the 1971-1986 Lorimar logo's music.

Availability: Only seen on Fish. The CTV Throwback prints keep this, along with some episodes on the Shout! Factory DVD, and seen on Decades last aired on August 28, 2022.
