Background
Volta-Vision was formed in 1962 in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, as the television counterpart of Radio Haute-Volta. It is the first African French-language public television channel.
ID (1983)
Visuals: Set over a red background with a darker bottom third, two symmetrically placed yellow Vs with numerous lines running across them horizontally wipe in from the bottom. The left V zooms in, shortly followed by the right V. Then, fading in over the darkened part of the background is yellow outlined text reading "VOLTAVISION", which is written in a retro 70s-style font and has each letter conjoined by a line running across the bottom. A red light then wipes across the text five times.
Technique: Cel animation.
Audio: A heroic sounding five-note synth fanfare.
