Walt Disney Productions UK

Background

Walt Disney Productions UK (formerly Buena Vista Productions UK) was a division of Buena Vista Productions and Walt Disney Television International that produced various in-house Disney programmes in the country.

1st Logo (2 January 1993-2003)

Visuals: Same as the regular Buena Vista Productions logo from this time period. This time, the castle and text zoom out to about halfway up the screen, with additional copyright text appearing below.

Later Variant: The division was renamed to Walt Disney Productions UK in 2001, and so the "Walt Disney" font replaces "Buena Vista" in the logo, and the "Productions" part is made smaller.

Variant: A still version of the logo exists.

Technique: Same as the 1985 Walt Disney Television logo.

Audio:

  • The same ascending pings as the regular Walt Disney Television logo.
  • On Saturday Disney and Wake Up in the Wild Room, just the ending theme of the show.

Availability:

  • Seen at the end of various Disney-produced programming blocks that aired on ITV's GMTV strand - Saturday Disney (1993-1996), The Disney Club (until 1998 when the block ended), Wake Up in the Wild Room (1996-1998) and Diggit (1998-2003).
  • The still variant was also spotted on at least one episode of Saturday Disney from 1995.

2nd Logo (2003-30 January 2005)

Visuals: On a light blue background with moving lights, there is the usual Disney abstract castle completely in orange. The Walt Disney font is below the castle, with "productions" in the FFGothic One-Two Condensed font, and "FOR GMTV" below to that, in the same font. Copyright info is below the logo in the Placard Bold Condensed font.

Technique: Digital 2D animation.

Audio: A sparkle sound, followed by a swoosh.

Availability: Only seen on Diggin' It, the new version of Diggit.
