Background
Astro Vellithirai is a Tamil movie channel launched on April 16, 2007. The channel also aired sitcoms, quiz shows, chat shows and music programmes. On April 14, 2022, the channel was upgraded to HD.
In Singapore, the channel, alongside Astro Vinmeen HD ceased its transmissions on Singtel TV and had been replaced with KTV HD and Sun Music HD, on July 1, 2020.
1st ID (April 16, 2007-April 13, 2022)
Visuals: Over a black and blue gradient background with orange, purple and pink curves moving around the screen, a flash appears at the center of the screen and forms a curved line, which proceeds to transform into a 3D version of the logo, consisting of the "wave curve" rectangle colored in silver, with the stacked channel's name on it. "வெள்ளித்திரை" emits light for a brief time, and the logo shines.
Technique: CGI.
Audio: A short catchy tune with a two-note electronic sting at the beginning.
2nd ID (April 14, 2022-)
Visuals: An orange kaleidoscope is seen forming over a blue gradient background as it turns blue, before the scene fades into multiple blue, orange and pink triangles from above and below moves into their respective sides. It then cuts to the triangles moving away and settling their position, as the zooming logo is briefly seen over the transparent triangles before being revealed in full, which stops zooming.
Technique: CGI.
Audio: A six-note guitar tune which repeats two times before ending with a guitar riff and another two-note guitar tune. This is accompanied by drumbeats and a shimmering sound when the logo is revealed.
