Background

Century III Teleproductions was a video editing and post-production company, founded in July 1976 by Ross Cibella. It was initially headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts, but later moved to Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida in late 1988, after successfully bidding to become that lot's exclusive vendor of post-production services. The company closed sometime after 2005.

1st Logo (April 23, 1996-1998)

Visuals: On a sky blue background, there is the silver text "CENTURY III" in an interconnecting font, with "AT UNIVERSAL STUDIOS, FLORIDA" below the silver text. Underneath that, there is an abstract "C" symbol reminiscing of the Pony Video logo.

Variant: On later VHS prints of Big Blue Marble, the background is black, the text "FILM RESTORATION AND DIGITAL RE-MASTERING" is seen above, and the silver text "FILM SERVICES" is seen below the logo with a line underneath.

Technique: A still, digital graphic.

Audio: A female voiceover saying the on-screen text, or the audio of The Blue Marble Company's logo.

Availability: It was used on the VHS release of Kids for Character, and later VHS prints of Big Blue Marble, where it plastered the logo for The Blue Marble Company.

2nd Logo (October 14, 1997)

Visuals: On a dark background, the shiny white text "CENTURY III" is seen rotating against a maroon "C"-shaped globe (a la the Universal logo). The globe zooms out a bit before moving to the center of the screen, with the text rotating once before stopping upon reaching the middle. In the background, several smaller Century III globes can be seen with the text continuing to rotate around them.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A synth theme is quietly heard in the background as a male announcer says, "Choices Count was made possible in part by generous contributions, from Century III in Universal Studios Florida!".

Availability: It can be seen on the VHS release of Choices Count!, the sequel to Kids for Character.

3rd Logo (1998)

Visuals: Over a black-blue gradient background, there is the small text "film restoration & digital re-mastering". Underneath is the text "CENTURY III". Below that, there is "at Universal Studios, Florida". It is arranged like this:

film restoration &
digital re-mastering

CENTURY III
at Universal Studios, Florida

Technique: A still, digital graphic.

Audio: The audio of The Blue Marble Company's logo.

Availability: It was used to plaster the aforementioned company's logo above on VHS prints of The Big Blue Marble. This may have been a placeholder for the first logo's variant.
