Logo: On a black background, we see green arrows. Then a light ray appears, with a white bold reversed arrow. The arrows zoom in and we see the 1997 FX logo with the words "PRODUCTIONS" and a copyright notice, then the logo zooms in, often transitioning to the FX Networks logo of that time.
Technique: Computer animation.
Music/Sounds: Two echoed whooshes and clangs.
Availability: Seen on Black. White., early episodes of The Riches and Dirt.
Logo: On a black/gray background, a big white banner rises from below, emitting light and slowly panning left. It has two X-shaped cuts (resembling searchlights) on the top and reads "FX PRODUCTIONS". There is a small copyright line on the banner reading "© [Year] FX Networks, LLC. All Rights Reserved".
Variants:
Technique: CGI animation.
Music/Sounds: A whoosh and a clang.
Music/Sounds Variants:
Availability: Common. It appeared on FX's original shows from 2007-2016, as well as FXX's original shows from 2013-2016. Seen on Damages, Sons of Anarchy, Archer, and many others. Also seen on FXX re-broadcasts of Da Ali G Show as part of Ali G Rezurection. Also seen on the first 3 episodes of Baskets. Strangely, even when the FXP logo debuted, this logo could be seen on season 11 of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
This logo contains flashing images for the whole duration. |
Logo: On a black background, we see the FXP logo for a split-second (which consists of the 2013 FX logo but with a P added to the end), until we see another split-second shot, containing the same logo but zoomed in. After that, we cut to various clips, starting with black and white ink paints, then yellow-brown paint (slightly reminiscent of Coke), and shattering ice on a black background. Then, we see ink splats on a flat surface with the FXP logo (covered in ink residue). We later cut to vibrating mercury liquid covering the "P", then to the finished product covered in mercury, with a copyright notice below like the previous logos. Right after the mercury fills up the "P", we cut to the same shot from the first frame, then again with the mercury, and finally another close-up shot of the logo.
Variant:
Technique: Live-action and CGI animation.
Music/Sounds: A brief piano note at the beginning and a string note being held throughout the entire logo, which is abridged on the shorter version. Sometimes, the end theme plays over or none.
Availability: Common. First seen on season 2 of Man Seeking Woman and appears on all of FX and FXX's original shows since then. It doesn't appear on season 11 of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, which uses the 2nd FX Productions logo instead.
