Background

MGM/UA Premiere Network was a syndicated movie package in the 1980s that showed movies from the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and United Artists libraries.

Logo (1984-1991)

Visuals: On a black-brown gradient background is the MGM logo, complete with Leo the Lion. It's like the 1984 logo minus the "DIAMOND JUBILEE" and "SIXTY YEARS OF GREAT ENTERTAINMENT". Leo roars once. After that, the logo disappears and a golden filmreel appears and revolves. Then many circle outlines in rainbow colors expand from the middle of the filmreel. When they cover up the filmreel, they disappear back into the middle. As it does this, it wipes the words

in white. Then it shows the preview for the movie.

Technique: Live-action and CGI.

Audio: The first roar of the 1960 roar track with a male announcer (Doug Paul) saying "Next on the MGM/UA Premiere Network..." and then explaining the movie being shown.

Audio Variant: There was another male announcer (John Leader) later on that started speaking before Leo roars.
