Background

Original Media was an American production company founded in 2002 by Charlie Corwin and Clara Markowicz. it was a subsidiary of Endemol USA. The company has produced the feature films, reality television, scripted television and digital programming. Some of television series include the Miami Ink and spinoffs LA Ink and NY Ink. The Rachel Zoe Project, The Gayle King Show, Storm Chasers, Dual Survival, BBQ Pitmasters, Swamp People, King of Dirt, Be Good Johnny Weir and The Philanthropist. In 2017, Endemol Shine North America merged Original Media with True Entertainment to form Truly Original.

1st Logo (2008-March 6, 2012)

Logo: On a black background, we see a TV static in the box, then it cuts to an animated boombox. The company name comes in through the speaker and the Endemol byline fades in.

Variants:

  • Still and bylineless versions exist.
  • Sometimes, the static is absent.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: Radio static, followed by a humming noise.

Audio Variants:

  • Sometimes, the logo is silent.
  • In the later years, there is a "THUD" sound followed by an hip-hop theme with a robotic voice sings "Whoa, original!".

2nd Logo (February 1, 2012-2017)


Logo: We see a boombox falling down. The text "ORIGINAL MEDIA" in a yellow Impact font appears via a bounce effect when the boombox starts playing music, then it quickly zooms in.

Technique: 2D effects.

Audio: Same as the later version of the previous logo's music.
