Background

Talking Monkey is the vanity plate of Joe Rogan.

1st Logo (November 21, 2014)

Visuals: On a black background with a film grain overlay, a thinly bordered horizontal rectangular white box contains an x-ray scan of a CGI cartoon monkey-alien hybrid head with pointed ears. Dark sepia copies of it are shown on top and below the box and marker-drawn symbols are superimposed and rapidly changing inside. Also within the box, there is "TALKING MONKEY", in a stacked format and white color. When the head directly faces the screen by lifting itself, the screen flashes, causing the box to cover the screen, the background to be dark purple, and tint the shot of the head in the process.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: A deep and muffled warble, followed by static and an ominous ambiance track.

Availability: The logo is seen on Joe Rogan: Rocky Mountain High.

2nd Logo (October 21, 2016-)

Visuals: The logo from before, specifically during the first half, is shown with the head slightly looking at various sides of the screen. The box is in front of the frames containing a filmstrip leader with transparent perforations on the sides. Eventually, the screen glitches, and the shot changes to an illustrated version of the hybrid head with a purple outer glow, subtly shaking vertically against a black background. Underneath, "TALKING MONKEY", in white, deblurs.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: While a faint, repeating warble plays in the background, a buzzing five note synthesized jingle (resembling the opening signature heard in the Dragnet theme) plays. Then, a rising and erratic static sound is heard, followed by ambiance.

Availability: The logo is seen on Joe Rogan: Triggered, Joe Rogan: Strange Times, and Joe Rogan: Burn the Boats.
