Background
Granada Wild was the nature and wildlife production arm of Granada Media Group.
Founded in 1971 as Survival Anglia, Ltd, it was originally a subsidiary of Anglia Television and were best known for the ITV series Survival, which aired over 4 decades from 1961-2001.
Anglia was bought by Mills & Allen International (MAI) in 1994, who then merged with United Newspapers in 1996 to form United News & Media (UNM). At the same time Survival Anglia, Ltd was renamed to United Wildlife. Later, UNM would sell all of its television assets to Granada and the division would be rebranded as Granada Wild. Throughout all of this, the company continued to be listed on Companies House under its original name of Survival Anglia, Ltd.
Although Companies House lists the company as going dormant in 2008, Granada Wild's final production was Zoo Days which finished in 2009. Survival Anglia, Ltd remained dormant until it was struck off Companies House voluntarily in December 2016.
