Background

KIXE-TV is a PBS affiliate located in Chico-Redding, California.

1st Logo (1983-199?)

Nickname: "The Snowy Peak"

Logo: We fade in to a snow-capped mountain (likely that of Mt. Shasta) under a sunny sky, with small trees below. The orange text "A PRESENTATION OF KIXE REDDING/CHICO" slides up from below. If you look closely, you can also see a tiny gust of wind at the top of the peak.

FX/SFX: The wind, the text sliding up. Simple animation.

Music/Sounds: A thunderous, but partially audible "BOOM!", then a calm synthesizer jingle.

Availability: Uncommon. The World of Collector Cars may have this logo at the end of their episodes. It doesn't get rerun that often, though. Also seen at the beginning of Mark Kistler's Imagination Station.

Editor's Note: None.

2nd Logo (199?-200?)

Logo: On a green background, we see the letters "KIXE" rotating out and the word "PRESENTATION" flipping in.

Variant: There's is a version with a waving American flag background starting in 2002.

FX/SFX: The text appearing.

Music/Sounds: A seven-note tune similar to the PBS Election 92 jingle.

Availability: TBA.

3rd Logo (20??-)

Logo: On a black background, we see 3 circles sliding up from a stone platform, emitting a bright light. The circle on the left is yellow, the middle is blue, and the right is green. The yellow and green ones slide up again and disappear off-screen, while the word "KIXE" slides up from the stone platform. The word "productions" slides to the right from the left side of the screen. The camera zooms in slightly afterwards.

FX/SFX: The circles and text sliding, the camera zooming.

Music/Sounds: A hip-hop beat.

Availability: Current. Was seen on the KIXE Forum.

Editor's Note: None.
