Background:

O Entertainment was a production company founded by Steve Oedekerk in 1990. O Entertainment produced the Thumbs! series (Thumb Wars, Bat-Thumb, Thumbtanic, etc.), Santa vs. the Snowman 3D, The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius and Back at the Barnyard among other shows and movies. Oedekerk later founded Omation as an animation subsidiary in 2002. Following the cancellation of Planet Sheen, which was poorly received and a ratings flop, the studio, along with Omation, closed down in 2013.

1st Logo (September 3-December 20, 1997)

Visuals: On a black background, there is a light yellow "O", with "ENTERTAINMENT" also in light yellow below it. The "O" then rotates, turning into a lip shape, and says "Ha-ha, Oedekerk!".

Variant: On a 1997 ABC broadcast of Santa vs. the Snowman, there are snowflakes falling.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A 3-note synth theme and the "O"'s high-pitched dialogue (provided by Oedekerk himself) playing over it.

Audio Variants:

  • Original broadcasts of The O Show had a generic theme with a voiceover playing over it.
  • On a 1997 ABC broadcast of Santa vs. the Snowman, the "O"'s voice is different, and the synth tune was replaced with a winter theme.

Availability: It only appeared on The O Show (a.k.a. steve.oedekerk.com) and the TV version of Santa vs. the Snowman on ABC.

2nd Logo (September 10, 1998-November 24, 2007)

Visuals: On a black background, a giant, gelatinous purple "O" falls to the center of the screen. As it jiggles, "Entertainment" (also in purple, in a handwritten font) appears below in a blur effect.

Variant: On Thumbs!, "WWW.OEDEKERK.COM" appears below the logo.

Technique: CGI made with Alias Wavefront Maya.

Audio: A low-pitched voice (again, made by Oedekerk himself) saying "O!" with a dreamy synth tune.

Audio Variants:

  • On the Jimmy Neutron pilot "Runaway Rocketboy", the synth theme is different and the "O!" voiceover is delayed for a fraction of a second.
  • Thumb Wars has the closing theme instead of the synth tune, with the voice saying "O!" intact.
  • At the beginning of the Thumb Wars 1999 VHS as well as the 2000 demo pitch for Barnyard, only the "O!" voiceover is heard.

Availability:

  • Seen on all episodes of The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, including the original "Runaway Rocketboy" pilot.
  • It also appeared on the Thumbs! series, such as Thumb Wars (at the end of the movie), and split-screen airings of Back at the Barnyard when it premiered up to the episode "The Barnyard Games". The logo also appears on the 2000 demo pitch for Barnyard, which was considered lost media for years until it was uploaded to YouTube in 2024.
  • It appeared in the bottom left corner of the screen whenever Back at the Barnyard was still rerun on Nicktoons in place of the Omation logo.

Legacy: This logo is best known for appearing on Nickelodeon's The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius in conjunction with DNA Productions, and is a favorite among fans of the show.

3rd Logo (2001-2002)

Visuals: In black and white, a thumb depicted as a human is sitting on a chair while winding a camera with stacks of film reels next to it in front of a black background. As he does, the camera projects to reveal the O Entertainment logo (the same one as the first, except that the "O" is in a slightly different font and bolder) while it pans briefly.

Technique: Live-action and CGI.

Audio: A silent film-style piano piece, as well as the sound of the camera being wound.

Availability: Seen at the start of the Thumbs! series of parodies, beginning with The Godthumb.

4th Logo (December 21, 2001-August 4, 2006)

Visuals: On a black background, a purple, cartoonish "O" (unlike the previous logos) is seen in the center, with "entertainment" slightly arching upwards underneath the logo.

Variants:

  • On Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, the logo is a bit smaller and the border of the "O" is white.
  • On Santa vs. the Snowman 3D, the logo is on a white oval and shines as it slowly zooms in.

Technique: A still digital graphic. CGI for the Santa vs. the Snowman 3D version.

Audio: None or the opening/closing theme of the movie.

Availability:

  • Seen at the end of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius and Barnyard.
  • Also seen at the start of Santa vs. the Snowman 3D, which was presented in IMAX 3D theaters during winter from 2002-2006.
