Background

Random House Children's Entertainment is a children's production division of publisher Random House. It was originally formed as "Random House Entertainment", but was later renamed to its current name in 2010.

1st Logo (September 13, 1997-June 13, 1998)

Visuals: On a black background, there is a crudely-drawn crayon version of the Random House logo, which sits behind the sun on grass, all in a box. Below it is "Random House" and "entertainment" below it, all in a childlike font.

Technique: None. [possible misuse]

Audio: The closing theme of the show.

Availability: Seen only on the short-lived puppet series The Crayon Box, which has been lingering in obscurity since it stopped airing in syndication (in the US, alongside Bananas in Pajamas) and on YTV in Canada.

2nd Logo (August 7, 2010-October 14, 2018)

Visuals: Over a white background is the house from the Random House Home Video logo, but there is no rainbow and the house is in different colors. Next to the house, there are the words "RANDOM HOUSE CHILDREN'S ENTERTAINMENT" in blue, with a green line between the text.

Variants: On Peter Rabbit, the logo is animated, except with the Frederick Warne & Co. copyright disclaimer appearing on the bottom reading "PETER RABBIT and all associated characters ™ & © Frederick Warne & Co. Limited All rights reserved. BASED ON THE WORKS OF BEATRIX POTTER Used under license by Silvergate PPL Ltd. Part of the Silvergate Media group of companies." and "RANDOM HOUSE CHILDREN'S BOOKS" replaces "RANDOM HOUSE CHILDREN'S ENTERTAINMENT". Starting in 2018, the logo's text now reads "RANDOM HOUSE CHILDREN'S BOOKS" in a less bold font.

Technique: None. [possible misuse]

Audio: The ending theme of the show.

Audio Variant: On Peter Rabbit, A bouncy tune followed by a squeaky chair/door sound. Composed by Bruce H. Zimmerman and musician/sound designer/voice actor Joey Edelman.

Availability: Only seen on The Cat in The Hat Knows a Lot About That!, The animated variant was only seen on Peter Rabbit.
