Background

Santa Ventura Studios was a television and motion picture production company based in Ventura, California.

1st Logo (September 28, 1997-August 1, 1998)

Visuals: "SVS" in a blue, grey and white gradient serif font is seen with a blue curvy line and the company name "SANTA VENTURA STUDIOS" below.

Technique: A still, digital graphic.

Audio: Both variants had Franklin/Waterman's theme continued from said logo. Mike Hammer, Private Eye uses a long three-note tune, while Born Free uses a lightning sound.

Availability: The logo is seen on Mike Hammer, Private Eye and Born Free.

2nd Logo (October 3, 1998-May 22, 1999)

Visuals: An illustration of Santa Ventura, California with two oranges on the bottom-left corner is shown with an old film effect applied to the entire logo. "SANTA VENTURA" in a yellow-orange gradient curved font zooms in inside the top of the illustration, while "STUDIOS" in a yellow Cooper font with an orange outline zooms out below the illustration. The scene goes in full color just before the text finishes its zooming, as "Ventura, California" in white fades in below after this happens.

Technique: 2D digital animation.

Audio: Continuing from Franklin/Waterman's third logo, what sounds like metal scrapping and thunder mixed into two sounds.

Availability: The logo is only seen on Air America.
