Background

On September 9, 2017, Sprout rebranded as Universal Kids and its in-house production company was rebranded as Universal Kids Originals. Coinciding with this, the network became targeted primarily at school-aged kids (from 7-12 years old). The network is owned by NBCUniversal.

1st Logo (October 13, 2017)

Visuals: On a white background, the Universal Kids logo (which consists of Universal Pictures' print logo's globe which is cut in half and the words "UNIVERSAL KIDS" in teal) appears and the words are revolving around the globe. The words "ORIGINAL SERIES" in purple and stacked appears at the last rotation of "UNIVERSAL KIDS". A copyright notice for Bravo Media is at the bottom.

Technique: 2D computer animation, done by ELOSIA Studio.

Audio: A remixed techno hip-hop beat accompanied with the sound of kids shouting "Ooh!".

Availability: It only appeared on Universal Kids' website and the original upload of the first episode of Top Chef Junior on YouTube. However, Universal Kids took it off their website sometime later. When it was eventually re-uploaded back onto their website, this logo was removed.

2nd Logo (October 13, 2017-April 11, 2019)

Visuals: On a light blue (or teal) background, the words "UNIVERSAL KIDS ORIGINAL" slide into the center of the screen. "UNIVERSAL KIDS" slides in from the left side and "ORIGINAL" slides in from the right. Sometimes, copyright info would appear below.

Variants:

  • On Nina's World, the Sprout logo appears on a dark blue background before it zooms away from the viewer while the dark background changes into a teal background via a zooming-out circle effect and the green flower of the Sprout logo. The words are already formed in this variant.
  • Starting in 2018, the font has changed slightly.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: Same as the first logo. For the Nina's World variant, the music is slightly altered.

Availability: Seen on Top Chef Junior and The Noise. The variant is seen on Nina's World and most likely other Sprout Original shows. As of 2019, no new original shows are being produced, so now the only other programs the air on Universal Kids are acquired/imported ones.

Legacy: The Nina's World variant was possibly made to remind younger audiences that Sprout was going to become Universal Kids.

3rd Logo (April 12, 2019-)

Visuals: On a teal and green-blue background, the text "universal kids original" appears via a swiping in effect with a copyright notice appearing below the text. Then the text disappears.

Variant: Starting with Remy & Boo, the Universal Kids current logo now appears on the screen without the copyright notice.

Technique: Traditional animation, done by Kill 2 Birds.

Audio: A techno theme, different than the last two logos. Starting with Remy & Boo, a different theme was played.

Availability: Seen on Universal Kids Originals from the period, such as Remy & Boo.
