Background

101 Studios is a global entertainment and international sales company launched on January 22, 2019 by founder and CEO David Glasser, after leaving The Weinstein Company following its collapse. Glasser also brought in David Hutkin to act as the chief operating officer. The company announced that it lined up more than $300 million to acquire, develop and produce films and TV in development. The company handles Universal Pictures for their international film distribution and also has a overall deal with MTV Entertainment Studios for their shows.

1st Logo (January 22, 2019-)

Visuals: On a black background, there is the large text "101". A few seconds later, some small text reading "studios" fades in on the top-right corner. The logo slowly zooms in during all of this. Inside the text is footage of a man on a horse on some hills with trees, as another one of them comes riding down.

Variants:

  • A print version has the logo stacked and with "studios" in all caps.
  • On The Last Cowboy, the logo is sped-up.

Technique: Live-action. This was done by Ultra Studio.

Audio: None or the closing theme.

Availability: It debuted on a Deadline article on January 2019 as a print version. The on-screen variant later made its debut with Yellowstone, starting with season 2 and also appears on The Last Cowboy, 1883 and 1923. This is used in tandem with the next logo.

2nd Logo (October 25, 2019-)

Visuals: On an black background, there is several outlines of the "101" done in a grafitti-like font. An orange light flickers inside the text for a while until it turns fully white. Then, the text "STUDIOS" in a more basic font fades in underneath before the entire logo flickers out into darkness.

Variants:

  • On Burden, an alternate version is used. The logo fades in one-by-one against an ocean background.
  • A still version exists.
  • On George & Tammy, the logo is next to the Freckle Films logo.

Technique: A mix of CGI and 2D animation.

Audio: None or the opening/closing theme.

Availability: It debuted on the USA release of The Current War and can also be seen on said release of Burden as well as Dara of Jasenovac and The War with Grandpa. It also appears on the TV shows Mayor of Kingstown, Tulsa King, George and Tammy, and Waco: The Aftermath.
