Background

Mandeville Films is an American production company that was founded in 1995 by David Hoberman in Burbank, California.

1st Logo (February 16, 1996-December 4, 2009)


Visuals: On a cloud background is a green and gold field that is split in the middle. As the screen zooms in, the field is revealed to be part of a stylized "M", the logo parts being split by a shape that looks like a road. As the logo centers itself at an angle in the middle of the screen, the text "MANDEVILLE FILMS" wipes in with a drop shadow underneath.

Variants:

  • On Monk and the end of I'll Be Home for Christmas, the logo is cut-short to the wiping sequence.
  • On Mr. Wrong, the first movie with this logo, the logo appears prior to the credits and starts at the company name (with no shadow) wiping in.
  • On I'll Be Home for Christmas, the background clouds change at the very end, and the logo blurs and zooms up to start the movie.
  • There exists still and sped-up versions.
  • Sometimes, the logo is stretched vertically.
  • An open-matte version exists.
  • At the end of The 6th Man and George of the Jungle (1997 film; the normal logo appears at the beginning), the logo is already-formed and the clouds in the background keep moving. It cuts to the Walt Disney Pictures logo after a few seconds.

Visuals: There are two rectangular pillars at the foreground and a mountain landscape with a cloudy sky in faraway. The camera moves out of the pillars and rotates clockwise into the right pillar, until two black lines come into view. As the camera zooms out, the construction appears to be a gradient gray rectangle with two vertical cuts. Below is "MANDEVILLE" with "FILMS" spaced out below, as a light blink runs over the top of the rectangle.

Variants:

  • A short version exists.
  • A still version exists.
  • Sometimes, it shares the screen with other logos.
  • On Detroit 1-8-7 and the failed pilots of Sea of Fire and King John, the word "TELEVISION" replaces "FILMS".
  • On Warm Bodies, the logo zooms out already formed on a broken, dusty stone background.
  • On Mr. Monk's Last Case: A Monk Movie, the logo is placed on a white background and there is less shading on the symbol.
