Background

Lee Daniels Entertainment is the production company of the eponymous American film producer and director.

1st Logo (December 24, 2004)

Visuals: On a black background, a stylized black head with an afro hairstyle and partially filled face zooms in, masked through a sunset shot of Boathouse Row in Philadelphia. The head flips around to show the downtown skyline of the U.S. city. When it crossfades with an unmasked version of the photograph, the screen zooms out and the picture is shown to be within a red-bordered box against a black background. Then, the head from before alongside "LEE daniels entertainment", in a stacked format and covering the right portion of the graphic, appears in front of the image through a burst effect and flattens.

2nd Logo (January 7, 2015-)

Visuals: Lee Daniels' signature is shown on top of "ENTERTAINMENT", in Courier and with the first "E' inside a black box.

Technique: A still, digital graphic.

Audio: None or the closing theme of the show.

Availability: The logo is seen on The Ms. Pat Show, Our Kind of People, The Wonder Years, among other TV shows.

3rd Logo (August 16, 2024)

Visuals: On a black background, the silhouette of a child opens a door, releasing brown-tinted light into the dark room. The screen pans over to the other side where the light morphs into a city, showing the figure in the distance in the street between the two sets of buildings against the sun. Another morphing effect has the shot change to a black bird flying above the ground. Zooming into its black feathers where a few are in different colors, they morph into smaller versions of the bird flying against the sun. Several of these morph into "LEE DANIELS" whereas the rest fly away. Then, "ENTERTAINMENT" fades in below.

Technique: Oil pastel animation.

Audio: The opening theme of the film.
