Background

NMG Studio is a production company established by the National Media Group in 2018 to invest in content projects, develop the Russian film market and expand its own presence in the film production segments.

In 2019, the company closed a deal to acquire 50% of Art Pictures Studio. Its film assets also include film company KeyStone Production, animation studio Metrafilms and blogger agency Hype Agency.

Also in the 2019-2020 period. NMG Studio has established joint ventures with Star Media and Mars Media Entertainment to produce movies and TV series - Star Media Vision and Mars Media Vision, respectively.

The first projects in the NMG Studio's portfolio were such films as Fyodor Bondarchuk's Invasion and Zhora Kryzhovnikov's Ice 2. Subsequently, the pool of projects was supplemented by Egor Abramenko's sci-fi thriller Sputnik, as well as Eduard Oganesyan's Chiki, Fyodor Bondarchuk's Psycho and Evgeny Sangadzhiev's Happy End, which were created for the more.tv (now wink.ru) platform as part of the development of the more originals line.

Logo (April 23, 2020-)

Visuals: From a dark setting, a blue ball of light begins to rise from the black horizon, emitting blue haze. The screen begins to pan to reveal that it's a tall rectangle with a blue metallic texture. The screen begins to pan angles to the left as the tall rectangle begins to split into seven. This roughly forms the blocky "НМГ" text, adjusted by different positions. The screen pans clockwise up to where it starts positioning offset. The latter fully zooms away, revealing the company name in Cyrillic next to the columns of the rectangles.

Variants:

  • On Sputnik, the animation is in a red tint.
  • On Aurora, the animation is in an "old film-type" look, with RGB noise effects and a small blur effect applied onto. It also appears slightly sped-up.
  • On some television series, the animation is abridged up to the screen zooming out, revealing the elements.
  • At some cases, the print logo is shown either on a black background or in-credits.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A 6-note string theme ending with a more organically orchestralized renderization.

Audio Variant: On Sputnik, the string theme is eerily reworked, with the orchestral ending reduced and with an echo effect.

Availability: Debuted on Sputnik. The animated logo so far appeared from half of the studio's filmography, examples include Rabies (2023), Draculov and Ваша честь. The in-credit/still logos may appear on Psycho, GDR, Invasion, Russian South and others.
