Background

Telling Pictures is an American film and television production company founded by Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman in 1987.



1st Logo (October 15, 1989-January 22, 2000)

Visuals: Five long, isosceles triangles are within the shape of a circle, with two of each placed on the top and bottom. "TELLING PICTURES", in a tall, blocky serif font, is in between the two sets.

Variant: On Where Are We?: Our Trip Through America, the logo, in black, is superimposed against the opening shot of the film.

Technique: A still, digital graphic.

Audio: None.

Availability: The logo is seen on the end of Common Threads: Stories from the Quilt, the start of Where Are We?: Our Trip Through America, and Paragraph 175.

2nd Logo (September 24, 2010)

Visuals: The logo from before is shown, this time with the triangular bursts in light blue and the text in light gray and a tall, sans serif blocky font.

Technique: A still, digital graphic.

Audio: None.

Availability: The logo is seen on Howl.

3rd Logo (May 29, 2019-)

Visuals: On a black background, the bursts from before fade in, deblur, and slightly zoom out while "TELLING PICTURES", also from before, fades in between.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: The opening theme of the film.

Availability: The logo is seen on State of Pride and Linda Ronstadt: The Sound of My Voice.
