Background

Alfa-Bank is the largest private bank in Russia, founded in 1990 by Russian businessman Mikhail Fridman, who remains as the controlling owner. Headquartered in Moscow, it operates in seven countries, providing financial services to 22 million active corporate customers and over 1 million active retail clients as of 2021. On 1 March 2022, Mikhail Fridman and Pyotr Aven left the bank's board of directors after coming under EU sanctions imposed in response to the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. For the same reason, the bank has been sanctioned by US and EU authorities beginning in February 2022 and 2023, respectively.

1st Tag (1994-Late 1990s/Early 2000s)

Visuals: On a black background, a blue sphere is shown not so far from the screen. Below are a multitude of blue segmented spherical shapes with odd thin cutouts as they rotate randomly, as the camera pans down to show the rest of the shapes. From the back of them, a thin italicized "A", colored white from the front and transparent cornflower blue from it's lateral faces extends all the way to intersect with the segmented shapes. The background turns grainy white, as the thin "АЛЬФААНК" with the lateral faces colored cornflower, extends from the bottom and flattens, followed by the segmented shapes doing the same action.

Variants:

  • On most commercials that last a minute long, the completed logo is shown in a horizontal angle on a light yellow background.
  • A 10th Anniversary exists: Unknown.

Technique: CGI animation.

Audio: A somewhat suspenseful orchestral piece, followed by a Russian announcer saying the company's name.

2nd Tag (Late 1990s/Early 2000s-2002?)

Visuals: Starting from a black background, a dark blue gradient background is revealed through a fading horizontal wipe that starts from the bottom, as well as the company's symbol and wordmarks shown in glowing white, and the website shown below.

Variant: There exists a New Year variant: Here, the background is noticeably brighter, the whole logo is pushed over to the bottom half of the screen to make a room for a larger, glowing white text above it - "С Новым Годом !"; and instead of the website, the license information is shown below the logo.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: Two brief cellular beeps from the start, followed by a Russian announcer saying: "Альфа-Банк. С каждым клиентом, мы находим общий язык.".

3rd Tag (2002?-2005)

Visuals: On a white background with a faint blue vignette effect, the company's symbol and wordmark (the latter of which is now bolder), in blue and red respectively, fade in and zoom from the screen. The tagline from this period, "УДОБНО ВЫГОДНО НАДЕЖНО" fade in word-by-word underneath the wordmark.

Variants:

  • For the commercials featuring the plastic cards, the said cards will fade and zoom before the company's symbol and wordmarks themselves, which is set above of the cards.
  • Occasionally, a smaller version of the logo in a horizontal angle (similar to the first tag) would appear, superimposed onto the ending of the commercial below.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: A charmful choir/piano tune is heard in the background, while a Russian announcer is heard saying the lines, finishing with the tagline "Удобно, выгодно, надежно".
