Background

KVCR (also known as Empire Network and Empire PBS) is a PBS affiliate located in San Bernadino, California. Initially a radio station, it started TV broadcasting on September 11, 1962 and would become an affiliate of NPR in the spring of 1970. In 2017, the network was sometimes branded as Empire Network and two years later, the channel was renamed to Empire PBS.
