Background
By the late '80s, RKO General was forced by the FCC to exit broadcasting due to an accounting scandal. The newly renamed WWOR was initially owned by Universal Studios, and sold to Pinelands after Matsushi-ta purchased Universal's parent company, MCA. Chris-Craft purchased Pinelands in 1993, and the station became a UPN O&O at the network's launch in 1995. Visuals: The sequence starts with a modified version of the 1990 Universal logo with a different font and no blue nebula. Surrounding it is a grey ring which flips over to reveal to be a glass silver 9.
