Background

Southern Oregon PBS is a PBS network for the region of southwest Oregon, based in Medford.

1st Logo (February 20, 1985-March 2, 1986?)

Logo: The word "KSYS" is coated-out within blue mountains superimposed on the intro of a show. Under "KSYS" is "8", "MEDFORD" and the 1971-1984 PBS logo, all of which are cutouts. The "K" and the rest of the logo then move away as "SYS" take up the rest of the space then morph into a running stream as the mountains move out of view.

Technique: Cel animation.

Music/Sounds: The opening theme to the show

Availability: Extinct. This logo was found in 2020, and was seen on episodes of "Downtown Gazette" on the AAPB.

2nd Logo (2004-2012)

Logo: On a sunset background, we see the letter "SO" slowly slides to the left of the screen. At the same time, we see the word "SOPTV", with the word "SO" is in green and brown, flips in. Then we see the 2002 P-Head animating, and the word "A Presentation of" and "Connecting Our Community" both fades in one-by-one below and above the word "SOPTV".

Technique: CGI.

Music/Sounds: A chime sound, followed by a flute theme.

Availability: Seen on some programmes from the time, such as Immense Possibilities.
