WGTE-TV is a PBS affiliate located in Toledo, Ohio that was founded on October 10, 1960 as an NET affiliate until 1970. It has a radio station named after the network.
Logo: On a plain white background, we see the lower-case letters "wgte", colored blue, in a rather scratchy cursive font. Below it, we see the words "TV TOLEDO", which morph into "PRESENTS".
Technique: "TV TOLEDO" morphing into "PRESENTS".
Audio: None.
Logo: On a black-blue gradient background, we see a silver PBS logo and a silver "30" next to it. "WGTE TOLEDO" in a typewriter font is seen below.
Technique: It's a still logo, so nothing.
Audio: A male announcer saying "WGTE, TV 30, Toledo."
Audio Variant: On the May 1, 1992 episode of The McLaughlin Group, the male announcer says "Discover television worth watching, on WGTE-TV 30. Public television in Toledo.", then a quiet guitar tune.
Availability: Seen as a local ID.
Logo: On a tan marble background, we see the word "WGTE" in white, with "TV30" in dark blue. A dark blue line is under them. Below the line are the words "PUBLIC BROADCASTING" in white. The word "T O L E D O" is on the bottom.
Technique: None.
Audio: None.
Availability: Unknown. But it was seen on a January 22th, 1993 episode of The McLaughlin Group.
Logo: On a swirly icterine BG, we see the letters "wgte" in a giant blue Franklin Gothic font with "TV 30" in white under "te". Below it is "TOLEDO, OHIO" in white and italicized. As with the 1990 Universal logo, there was a special "Happy 50th Birthday" variant commissioned when this ident was launched. Much like the Universal logo, it shows very brief clips of old various WGTE idents that were used from 1953-2003 (making 50 years) wiping in and out via radar effect, before wiping into the ident we see here.
Technique: The background. The wiping in effects for the birthday variant.
Audio: Same as the 8th CPB ident. A male announcer says "You're watching WGTE, celebrating 50 years in Toledo." In the 50th anniversary logo, a "beep" sound is heard each time the radar wipe occurs.
Availability: Used as a local ID only.
