Background

WLIW is a PBS affiliate located in Garden City, New York.

1st Logo (1989-2002)

Visuals: Against a gray wall background, we see the logo of WLIW, colored dark blue this time, but from a 20th-Century Fox-esque angle. It centers itself and we also see a thinner "21" next to "WLIW". "New York" is underneath the logo, and when it finally does center itself, "Presents" is written in a pink cursive font on the logo.

Technique: The movement of the camera and "Presents" writing itself out.

Audio: A synth-orchestra jingle.

Availability: Seen on Frank Clarke's Simply Painting.

2nd Logo (2002-mid/late 2000s)

Visuals: On a black background, above the BBC World News logo (with "BBC" being its logo), we see the letters "WLIW, colored green, over "New York" in a thinner font, while a white light passes through the logo.

Technique: The light passing through the logo.

Audio: A synthesizer laser zap, but it's hard to hear as the announcer says "BBC World News is brought to you by WLIW New York.".

Availability: Seen on the American edition of BBC World News.
