Background

WSRE (channel 23) is a PBS member television station in Pensacola, Florida. It is owned by Pensacola State College.

1st ID (1977-1979?)

Visuals: On an orange background, the first ellipse appears with a concentric ellipse inside, followed by another. A circular emblem with a blue and white shield and golden helmet appears. The text "THE SEAL OF THE PENSACOLA JUNIOR COLLEGE" encircles the emblem in a green-ish emblem. Additional text, including "INSTRUCTIONAL TELEVISION", "OF", "WSRE TV PENSACOLA, FLORIDA" and "PRESENTS" (all appear in Sebastian Bold font) synchronized with music. The logo abruptly ends with the music.

Technique: Simple animation with a few frames.

Audio: A short, amelodic, caribbian style bossa nova beat.

Availability: Only seen on an interview with Peace Pilgrim on WSRE.

2nd ID (1984?-198?)

Visuals: On a black background, we see the number "23" in a custom font and the words "WSRE" and "pensacola" (both in Celesti SSK font) below the number moving on a wavy, green background (possibly filmed on a wavy sea or lake then chroma keyed).

Technique: Chroma key animation.

Audio: The beginning of "Little Martha" by Allman Brothers Band.

Availability: So far only seen on Annular vs Total Solar Eclipses.
