From the Audiovisual Identity Database, the motion graphics museum

Background

In the early 1990s, PBS would air this ident during the holiday season, around Christmas. Two affiliates are known to broadcast the ident, Louisiana Public Broadcasting and Denton, TX's KDTN.

Ident (Early 1990s)

Visuals: The camera zooms away from an image of the Earth on a black background. Once the camera is far enough, "P E A C E O N E A R T H", with a drop shadow, slides in near the top of the screen from the left and stops at the center. The affiliate's logo then fades in near the bottom-left.

Variants:

  • The version used on LPB has a list of stations fade in below "P E A C E O N E A R T H". The LPB logo is also larger.
  • The version used on KDTN has their logo in a smaller size and closer to the bottom-left. No list of stations appears here.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: Some beeps, followed by a dreamy synth chord.
